Seek an Excuse to resign?

[Maypecrycle]

I currently have Amplitube 3 running on my Win Vista Pc (Specs: Amd Athlon 64 x2, Ati Radeon, Not sure what sound card) The computer is a Hp pavillion.... I play the electric guitar on my Computer using Amplitube and there is a slight lag in the sound. I pluck a string and the sound comes out from the computer half-a second late. Could someone please tell me what is going on or how to resolve this problem, thank you
